Between Thursday 10th and Sunday 13th July, Sgt Anthony, Cpl Styles, and Cdts Allen and Rowlingson, represented the squadron at the Inter-Service Cadet Rifle Meeting (ISCRM) at Bisley.
ISCRM sees the top shooting teams from the three cadet services (ATC, ACF and SCC) compete for a multitude of silverware over three days of competition, firing from 300, 500 and 600 meters.
In addition to representing the squadron the team were also part of the larger Corps team, helping to put the ACF and SCC in their place. They were also the first team from Sussex Wing to enter for, well pretty much ever.
With very little practise or experience at target shooting, and having to beg, steal and borrow kit, the team performed excellently, almost every detail bringing a new personal best. For their efforts the team received both Wing and Corps Blues and the even more coveted high-five from Sgt Downes.
Despite the varying weather, the flooded tent and the ridiculously early mornings, everyone had a great time and can’t wait for next years competition.
P.S. A big thank you to Flt Lt Wright from 45F (Worthing) Sqn who kindly volunteered to be our coach, and to Sgt Forrester from 45F who stepped in at the last minute (literally, 12:30am) to be our butt marker. We couldn’t have done it without you.
